Kegler's Korner: Becker, Gridley earn Bowler of Week nods

This week’s Bowlers of the Week are Nick Becker and Stacy Gridley. While Becker’s 802 in the Lycoming Engines League was his third 800 series of the season, Gridley’s 744 was her second consecutive 700 series in the Brenda Welshans Memorial League. These two bowlers also garnered high game honors, with Gridley building her big series with a 288 game, and Becker tossing a 287 in his top series. At 13-4 overall, and tying its most successful regular season in program history set a year ago, the Penn College men’s lacrosse team finds itself in a familiar position as it heads into the United East Conference playoffs for the sixth consecutive season under coach Jordan Williams. Elijah Eck walloped a first inning grand slam, Logan Kirby threw his fifth straight gem and Montoursville clinched its 36th straight playoff berth Monday afternoon, defeating Jersey Shore, 8-3. Eck’s grand slam highlighted a seven run first inning and Kirby, allowed just two hits and an unearned run while striking out 12. Kirby, 5-0 this year, also collected his 200th career strikeout.
