Japan scores 10 runs in win against Dominican Republic

After losing their opener earlier this past week in the Little League World Series, Tokyo, Japan bounced back in convincing fashion with a rout over Santiago, Dominican Republic of the Caribbean Region at Volunteer Stadium, 10-1, on Saturday afternoon. Japan jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back from there. Japan held a 5-0 lead in the top of the third before the Dominican Republic scored a run in the bottom of the inning. Canada shuts out Australia to advance at LLWS

Vancouver, British Columbia is alive for at least one more game at this year's Little League World Series after recoridng a 4-0 win against Sydney, Australia in an elimination game at Volunteer Stadium. Canada led just 1-0 through five innings before gaining separation with a three-run sixth inning. Pitching wise, Canada limited Australia to just two singles. Canada's Felix Hoyano and Kiah Sandhu combined on the mound as Hoyano threw 5 2/3 innings with nine strikeouts before being pulled at 70 pitches.
