While his fiancee was holding the couple’s 5-year-old child, Joshua Louis Cooke punched the woman in her nose during a domestic disturbance in the couple’s Fairfield Township’s home at 280 Country Lane on the morning of April 10, state police alleged in an affidavit. Police said Cooke also bear-hugged the woman as her feet were off the ground and slammed her into the hardwood floor three times, it was alleged. She was not holding the child then, police said. Taken into custody and arraigned on charges of felony endangering the welfare of child as well as one count each of simple assault and harassment, Cooke, 37, was arraigned before District Judge Gary Whiteman and initially jailed, but has since been released on $15,000 bail. He was held for court last week on all charges following a preliminary hearing.
