BARBOURS – More than a half dozen volunteer fire companies were battling a house fire that broke out in the 13000 block of Route 87 in Plunketts Creek Township about 9:35 p.m. Sunday. The scene is about three miles south of Dunwoody Road

Besides Lycoming County, firefighters from Sullivan County responded as well.

The blaze closed down Route 87 at Route 973.

Additional tankers from Pennsdale and Old Lycoming Township were dispatched about 10 p.m.

It was believed the 911 call for the fire came from someone in the home. It was unknown if everyone got out.
