Man seriously injured in crash near Antes Fort

ANTES FORT – A man was rushed to UPMC Williamsport with very critical injuries he suffered Tuesday night when his car and a stake body truck collided on Route 44, about a half a mile south of here, according to state police.
The 7:25 p.m. collision flipped the truck on its driver’s side, blocking both lanes of the road. The car landed partially in a ditch along the northbound lane.
Police said the driver of the car was heading south while the truck driver was heading north towards here. The driver of the car was reportedly partially ejected from the vehicle, according to fire officials.
The truck driver was taken to a hospital to be evaluated and treated for any minor injuries.
Firefighters from here, Nippenose Valley and Jersey Shore along with Jersey Shore Area EMS responded.

The two-lane state road was shut down for at least two hours from Main Street in Jersey Shore to Route 880 until state troopers completed their on-scene portion of their investigation.
