Music collective enrolling for fall semester

Music continues at the Uptown Music Collective! The Collective’s fall enrollment week begins on Aug. 9 and runs until Aug. 14. Enrollment is open for both in-person and virtual private lessons on guitar, vocals, bass, keyboards and drums. According to a news release, the fall semester will begin on Aug. 30 and will run for 15 weeks. The fall semester will see the return of in-person classes and workshops, as well as the continuation of the Adult Music Program known as “AMP.” This program is intended for those who wish that the Collective had been around when they were kids. At 6:30 p.m., Aug. 15, at the Wellsboro Johnston Airport at 112 Runway Road, Wellsboro, Hamilton-Gibson’s 25th Season Celebratory Choir will present a concert in recognition of the HG Children and Youth Choir’s 25th Season, a news release said. Acting, dialogue can’t elevate premise of ‘Old’

It’s ironic that “Old” concerns the speeding up of time; the movie is so painfully bad that — in contrast to the characters, whose lives go rushing past — its 108 minutes feel more like 108 hours. “Sir Gawain and the Green Knight” is a 14th-century narrative poem set in the Arthurian age. One of my all-time favorite books, it tells of a brave and noble warrior on a likely-fatal quest — but no one knows who wrote it.
