Louisiana trucker jailed on felony firearm charge after Armstrong Twp. traffic stop

Gage Ducksworth, 24, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, was arrested and jailed on a felony charge of possession of a firearm without a license after a handgun was found in the sleeping berth of his tractor-trailer truck that state police had stopped Route 15 in Armstrong Township about 12:50 p.m. on Oct. 1, it was stated in an affidavit. Troopers stopped the rig because Ducksworth was wanted for questioning in connection with a domestic disturbance in which he allegedly threatened his girlfriend with a firearm in Union County. Police said Ducksworth gave his consent for the troopers to search the truck and told them where the handgun was located. He denied threatening the girlfriend with the weapon, police said. Arraigned hours later before Solomon, Ducksworth was initially jailed, but has since been released on $10,000 bail.
