Jersey Shore woman charged with theft of cough medicine from convenience store
A Jersey Shore woman faces a charge of misdemeanor retail theft after she allegedly removed three boxes of a cough suppressant and a lemon-flavored drink from the Sheetz location along Route 220 in Woodward Township on Nov. 10, 2025, a state police affidavit said.
Addison Sylvia Crawley, 31, of 190 Baer St., Jersey Shore, was allegedly seen by a staff member picking up three boxes of cough suppressant, along with a lemon-flavored beverage, and entering the women’s restroom, and exiting three to five minutes later.
A staff member subsequently discovered two empty boxes with all of the pills popped out. Crawley was allegedly caught on surveillance video shoving the third box into a chip rack, according to court documents.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Crawley allegedly told a staff member when approached about paying for the items, before leaving the store without paying for the pills or drink, which totaled $40.46.
Taken into custody at the home of her boyfriend, police allegedly discovered four of the pills on Crawley during a search of her person.
The incident marks Crawley’s second retail theft arrest since 2013, police noted in the affidavit.
Crawley was arraigned by District Judge Denise Dieter.
