An elderly female was killed in an apparent hit and run Saturday, Lycoming County Coroner Charles Kiessling Jr. said in a statement.

The incident occurred just before 5:15 a.m. in the 4700 block of Route 220 South in Woodward Township, according to scanner reports.

“The patient was transported to the Trauma Center at UPMC Williamsport where she was pronounced dead at 9:30 a.m., Kiessling’s statement said.

Additional information will be forthcoming, pending the result of an autopsy that is scheduled for Monday, and notification of the family, Kiessling’s statement said.
