Williamsport man jailed for allegedly sending threatening text messages

After sending numerous text messages Tuesday to his landlord in which he allegedly threatened to kill another tenant in the apartment building, Jeremy Blake Baney was locked up on charges of terroristic threats, stalking and harassment, city police said.
Most of the text messages contained obscene and threatening language, police said.
“I do mean I’m going to permanently end her (expletive) life. I’m going to put her six feet into the (expletive) ground, bro,” read one message that Baney, 29, of 324 Park Ave., allegedly sent to the landlord, police said.
Another message read “I’m going to rape her dead (expletive) body while it is still warm,” police said.
The text messages left the victim “terrified” when the landlord shared them with her, police added.
Following his arraignment before District Judge Kirsten Gardner, Baney was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $35,000 bail.
