Lycoming Career and Technology Center embarks on capital campaign
The Lycoming Career and Technology Center (Lyco CTC) is in the process of a capital campaign aimed at raising $2.3 million to support the expansion and renovation of its programs.
“As a vital member of our community, we invite you to join us in this exciting opportunity to positively impact the future of our students and the local workforce,” said Nathan C. Minium, Lyco CTC executive director, according to a news release.
With construction documents expected to go out for bid in June, it is crucial that the educational facility secure all sponsorship and donation commitments by July.
An ambitious project, which aims to expand its current facilities, adding two additional career and technical education programs, while increasing and modernizing the facilities to provide cutting-edge training in fields including welding technology, diesel and auto technology, healthcare, and other in-demand occupations.
The total estimated construction costs stand at $12.3 million.
“Thanks to the commitment of our member school districts, which have contributed $5 million through a bond, and a $5 million state grant award made possible by Gov. Josh Shapiro’s administration, we have already $10 million committed towards this initiative,” Minium noted, according to the news release.
“However, to achieve our vision, we need your support to close the remaining funding gap of $2.3 million,” he said.
Contributions will help to achieve:
• Expanded Program Offerings: Introduce new programs that align with industry demands, ensuring our students are workforce-ready.
• Community Partnerships: Foster collaboration with local businesses to provide internships and job placement opportunities for our students.
• State-of-the-art Learning Environments: Create modern classrooms and labs that inspire creativity and innovation.
Ways to Support Our Capital Campaign:
• Direct Donation: Any amount you can contribute will be greatly appreciated.
• Corporate Sponsorship: Consider becoming a corporate sponsor, which includes recognition in our promotional materials and events.
• Equipment Donations: We welcome donations of equipment and materials that will
be needed for our students in our new and renovated/expanded programs spaces.
“Your sponsorships and donations may be tax-deductible,” Minium stressed.
“We would love to discuss this opportunity further and explore how you can get involved. For
