Andrew C. ‘Andy’ Tressler

Andrew C. “Andy” Tressler, 77, husband of Carol V. (Thomas) Tressler, of Cogan Station, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, April 29, 2019.

Born on July 28, 1941, in Williamsport, he was the eighth child of the late Harvey W. Sr. and MaryJane (Stricker) Tressler.

Carol and Andy were wed on June 8, 1963, and shared over 55 years of marriage together raising three children, James (Robin) Tressler, of Jersey Shore, Steven Tressler, who passed away in 1989, and Susan (Tim) Entingh, of Waverly, N.Y.

Also surviving are six grandchildren, Amanda (John, Jr.) Heck, of Jersey Shore, and Nicholas, Rebekah, Sarah, Esther, and Miriam Entingh, all of Waverly, N.Y.; a great-grandson Jaxon Heck; and sister, Patricia A. Dunkleberger, of Williamsport; along with many nieces and nephews.

Andy gave six years of honorable service to his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army, many of those years serving with White House Communications.

He retired as an oil and furnace technician from Montour Oil Co., now Superior Oil Co. in 2004 after 35 years of service.

Following his retirement, he provided transportation to the Amish community.

Andy enjoyed bowling in local leagues for over 60 years, making many friends and was elected to the Lycoming County Hall of Fame in 2006. He served over 25 years on the local association board and recently as president, until his illness. One of Andy’s proudest accomplishments was a perfect 300 game in 1999, witnessed by his wife, son and daughter-in-law.

He was a member of Crossroads Church of Jersey Shore since its inception, serving as a greeter and in mission trips all over the United States.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 3, at 10 a.m., in Crossroads Church, 1454 Rte. 44, Jersey Shore, with his pastor, John H. Phillips Jr., officiating. A viewing will be held in the church on Thursday, May 2, from 4 to 8 p.m., and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Final interment will be held in State Road United Methodist Cemetery, Linden.

If desired, memorials may be made in Andy’s name to his church or to the American Cancer Society, 1948 W. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Wayne P. Urbine Funeral Home, Inc., 408 S. Main St., Jersey Shore, PA.
