John W. Owens

John W. Owens, 67, passed away peacefully at home in Williamsport, Pa, on December 8, 2024.

He was born on April 4, 1957, in Bryn Mawr, Pa, to Robert and Alice (Dolan) Owens. John was raised in Wynnewood and attended Lower Merion High School before continuing his education at Penn College. John was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. He loved anything with wheels and had many cars and motorcycles he treasured. John made friends everywhere he went from his daily visits to Turkey Hill and Wegmans to meetings at the church. John was never far from a good cup of coffee, a bowl of ice cream and a friend- ly dog. John loved to tell stories from his favorite golf courses and beach time in Cape May with his family.

John is survived by his niece, Susan Thayer of California; nephew, Robert Owens of Alaska; great-niece, Destiny Jackson of Alaska; his partner, Ellen Stockwell McGuire; stepdaughter, Eliz- abeth McGuire (Tim Duggan); grandchildren, Clare and Wil- liam Duggan; sister and brotherin-law, Mary and Gregg Zeitler; niece, Laura Gilbert; and nephews, Michael, Peter, and Charles Zeitler.

A memorial lunch will be held on his birthday, April 4, at the Genetti Hotel in Williamsport at noon. Friends and family are invited to come and share a story in his honor. RSVP to Owensap- ril4rsvp@gmail.com.
