Leonard F. Heller, Jr.

Leonard F. Heller, Jr., 97, of Williamsport passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. Born March 20, 1929 in Avis, he was a son of the late Leonard F. and Edith (Cowher) Heller, Sr. Leonard served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War, and later retired after 33 years with PP&L. He was an avid golfer and continued to play into his 90’s. He was also a certificated pilot and enjoyed many hours in the air. Georgina M. Sackandy, 85, of Williamsport, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2026 at Valley View Nursing Center. Born April 3, 1935 in Indiana, PA, she was the daughter of the late George and Inez (Busani) Sackandy. Georgina was a 1953 graduate of DuBois Area High School. She received a B.S. Degree in Education from Indiana State Teachers College (now IUP) in 1956 and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Pennsylvania State University in 1964.
