The more things change, the more they stay the same

If, for some reason, you have been listening to the liberals and the Republicans, the forecast is for the Republicans to take back the House and Senate after the mid term elections. To some, that would be an answered prayer. The Republic can get back to normal, and be saved from the ruling Marxist political party, formally known as the Democratic Party. But maybe not.

Let’s say the Republicans take back both houses — will anything really change? Probably not. I believe we will just replace one style of controlling the citizenry with another. We all realize both parties serve the the party, not the people. Should this change of power actually happen in 2022 and 2024, the only thing that will change is the GOP will be in charge and institute their party’s agenda.

How did party agenda replace serving the people? It all came about because, over the years, the voters, Democrat and Republican, developed the attitude: “if laws and polices don’t affect me personally, I don’t care what my man votes for.” As a result of this attitude, the government got filled with lifetime representatives and senators, who, after their freshman year, become a party person, rather than a people person.

Here’s the deal: If 2022 and 2024 really results in a power change, in my opinion it will all be for naught if the voters return those GOP Representatives and Senators, who have spent three-fourths of their lives pretending to serve their constituents, to power. It is time for the McConnell types in the GOP to follow in the footsteps of the founding fathers: go back to their farm or business. Should their constituents return the GOP to their comfortable lifetime position, the only change that will occur is a party agenda change, and keep the cycle of slowly changing the basic founding of the Republic.
