Comparing pardons

Two recent letters to the editor of this paper lamented pardons or commutations issued by President Biden during his last days in office. The writers of these letters were silent on Trump’s blanket pardoning of convicted felons involved in the January 6th storming of the capitol. The two sets of pardons/commutations could hardly be more different. Twenty-two states and two cities have sued to stop Trump’s order blocking birthright citizenship. It seems that right out of the gate, Trump is testing his limits. Now, this could just be a diversion to focus the media on this issue while he gets other things done without resistance.
