Golf tip of the week: Make sure to grip the club in your fingers

PHOTO PROVIDED Grip the club in the fingers, not the palm.
All implements are held in the fingers, and a golf club is no different. Gripping the club in the palm of the hands creates tension and prohibits a proper club release.
If you were to hold a hammer in the palm of your hand, it would be challenging to strike a nail squarely. In fact, it would be difficult to utilize any implement or tool by holding it in the palm and not in the fingers.
Golf mechanics would be much better understood if golfers would relate the application of other tools and other athletic implements to the golf swing.
Don’t forget to enjoy this great game called golf.
