Kegler’s Korner: Eckman leads all local bowlers with a 790 series in Intercommunity League

In last week’s action, Pat Eckman led all local bowlers with a 790 series in the Intercommunity League. Danielle Barlet’s 778 in the Monday Night Classic League beat out Alicia Edkin’s 740 in the Intercommunity for top female honors. Barlet’s leading series included the top female game of the week, a 278, while perfect games were posted by three men: Tom Sobiech in the Monday Night Classic, and John Heck Jr and Steve Eckman, Sr, both in the Intercommunity.

John Heck Sr. was one pin short of joining John Heck Jr. in the 300 circle, rolling a 299 in the Monday Night Classic. Bowling more than 70 pins above their averages where Marty Martin with a 224 game in the Thursday Morning Mixed League and Allison Prince with a 246 in the Saturday Night Moonlighters League while Chris Marino’s 266 in the Mighty 8 League exceeded his average by more than 60 pins.

The State Seniors tournament ended last weekend in Williamsport with the following local bowlers finishing in the top 10 in their respective age divisions.

Karla Anderson finished in third place in the women’s scratch 6 Game All Events with a 1,138, fourth in the women’s scratch 9 Game All Events with a 1,732, fourth in the women’s scratch singles event with a 580 and sixth in the Women’s scratch doubles event with partner Brenda Stopper.

Tim Bailey finished fourth in the open scratch singles event with a 683 and sixth in the open scratch 6 game All Events with a 1,266. Richie Roberts finished fourth in the 6 game open handicap All Events, ninth in the 9 game open handicap All Events and ninth in the open handicap doubles event with partner Scott Roberts.

Charles Wannop finished in seventh place in the open scratch singles event with a 713, and ninth in open scratch 9 game all events with a 2029.
