CTL celebrates 40th season
The Community Theatre League wraps up its historic 40th anniversary season with “CTL Celebrates CTL ” musical celebrations at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
With vocalists recreating songs from the past four decades, the commemorative concerts are presented on CTL’s Main Stage, 100 W. Third St.
Songs to open and close the revue will be performed by the original cast of CTL’s award-winning production of “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.”
“Shy” from the premiere production of “Once Upon A Mattress” will be performed by Hannah Rankey. Vocalists reprising their actual roles from CTL musicals include: Desiree Mausteller, “Something Wonderful” from “The King and I”; Marissa Hickey, Kaitlin Obielencki and Aubrey Potash as a trio of nuns singing “At the Drive-In” from “Nunsense”; Josh Adams singing “Beautiful” from “Polkadots: The Cool Kid Musical”; “Betrayed” by Sean Engemann from “The Producers”; “Home” from “Beauty and the Beast” sung by Jaclyn Gilbert; and “Suddenly Seymour” from “Little Shop of Horrors,” sung by Jonathan Hetler and Melissa Maybus.
Other performers include: Phillip Vonada, Denise Connor, Shelby Snyder, Jake Hare, Katerina Moore, Sloan Wood and Abby Neamand.
CTL’s Show Choir will perform a medley to lead Act II. Also featured in a preview of the 41st season opener, Nathan Fulkerson will sing “Out There” from “The Hunchback of Notre Dame.”
A complimentary reception in the third floor Moyer Studio theater will follow each concert, with CTL alumni and professional vocalist Tess Marshall performing.
