Five charged with drug offenses in four cases
Jamir Wright, 23, of Philadelphia, and a passenger, Jyhee Williams, also 23, of Wyncote, Montgomery County, were both jailed in lieu of $100,000 bail each after state police discovered a pound of marijuana in their 2008 Ford Fusion which was stopped on an Interstate 180 East off ramp in the city about 10 p.m. Friday, according to an affidavit. The discovery was made after police obtained a search warrant. The two were arraigned before District Judge William Solomon on charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
In another case, Ravanna Spencer, 39, of Philadelphia, has been charged with the same offenses for allegedly having two large bags of marijuana on Route 15 in South Williamsport about 10 p.m. on June 5, borough police said. Following his arraignment before District Judge Christian Frey, he was released on $25,000 bail.
In another case, Morgan Young, 21, of Lock Haven, was charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamines and marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia on Route 44 in Nippenose Township on Dec. 16, according to Tiadaghton Valley Regional police. A bench warrant was expected to be filed after she failed to appear for her preliminary hearing, according to court records.
In another case, Ashley Marie Calhoun, 35, of 901 Louisa St., apartment 3, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance (drug not identified in court papers) and possession of drug paraphernalia on West Fourth Street in the city on June 22, 2021, according to state police. She has since waived her preliminary hearing before Frey and is free on $5,000 bail.
