Six face drug charges in separate cases

Armed with a search warrant, members of the county’s Narcotics Enforcement Unit (NEU) entered convicted felony Davere Andre McClain’s home at 1608 Catherine St. on Wednesday morning looking for a firearm, but what they found instead was “a gallon-size ziplock bag filled with marijuana in plain view in the basement,” court records stated.
Following his arraignment hours later before District Judge Christian Frey on one felony count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, McClain, 49, was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail.
In another NEU case handled by the judge, Rodney Hughes, 36, of Philadelphia, was arrested and charged with delivery of a controlled substance and illegal use of cellphone just moments after he sold $40 worth of crack cocaine to another individual at West Third and Campbell streets about 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 4, it was alleged in an affidavit. The alleged drug transaction was witnessed by an NEU member. Hughes was jailed in lieu of $95,000 bail.
In another case, Frey also locked up Mikal Lattimore, 37, of 967 High St., who was arraigned on NEU charges of delivery of a controlled substance and illegal use of a cellphone for selling a bundle of fentanyl for $100 to an informant in the 800 block of Park Avenue on Feb. 8, investigators alleged. Lattimore was jailed in lieu of $75,000 bail.
In another case, city police brought before the judge Jumichael Drummond, 32, of 1400 Oakes Ave., to face charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia for having nearly 40 grams of crack cocaine in either rock or powder at West Fourth and Hepburn streets on Aug. 3, it was alleged in an affidavit. Drummond was incarcerated in lieu of $95,000 bail.
In another NEU case, Harvey Grant Edwards III, 46, of 1532 W. Fourth St., has been charged with delivery of a controlled substance for allegedly delivering one gram of crack cocaine to another person in the 800 block of West Third Street in the city on July 18. Following his arraignment before District Judge Denise Dieter, he was jailed in lieu of $100,000 bail.
In another case, Patrick McNamee, 52, of 943 McNamee Road, Trout Run, has waived his preliminary hearing on state police charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia for allegedly having two bags of marijuana in his pickup truck in the 5000 block of Wallis Run Road in Gamble Township on Jan. 31, court records stated.
