Two area men jailed in separate assault cases
Eric Thomas Kurtz Jr., 27, of 3731 Lycoming Creek Road, has been jailed on assault-related charges following a violent domestic disturbance in which he punched a woman several times in her face and put his left hand around her neck, “restricting her ability to breathe,” before fleeing the couple’s home with his daughter about 12:45 a.m. on Oct. 8, Lycoming Regional police alleged in an affidavit. Kurtz was soon taken into custody and arraigned before Solomon on charges of felony strangulation, simple assault and harassment. He has since waived his preliminary hearing and remains jailed in lieu of $25,000 bail.
In another case, Marcus Darnell Watson, faces Williamsport police charges of simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment for striking his former girlfriend multiple times in the face and back in the 1100 block of Memorial Avenue on Oct. 7, it was alleged in an affidavit. Following his arraignment before District Judge Christian Frey, Watson was initially jailed, but has since been released on $25,000 bail.
