William James Mundell III, 37, of 1211 W. Fourth St., has been charged with simple assault after he punched his girlfriend in her left eye during a domestic disturbance in the 800 block of First Avenue on Sept. 30, city police alleged. Following a preliminary hearing before District Judge Aaron Biichle, Mundell was held for count on the one charge. Initially jailed, he has since been released on $15,000 bail.

In another domestic, Bernard L. Jennings, 74, of 320 Walnut St., waived his preliminary hearing before Frey on city police charge of simple assault stemming from when he is alleged to have pointed a loaded handgun at a woman’s face during an argument at their home on Sept. 17, according to an affidavit. He is free on $15,000 bail.
