WELLSBORO Sixteen people were recently sentenced at the Tioga County Courthouse for crimes ranging from public drunkenness to cruelty to animals.

Sentenced to state prison were:

Donald VanOrsdale III, 37, of Woodhull, N.Y., 36 to 72 months in state prison with 212 days credit for time served for theft. VanOrsdale was also sentenced to 19 to 60 months in state prison for burglary. The sentences will be served consecutively.

Melissa A. Scocozzo, 25, of Scranton, one to four years in state prison and $500 fine for possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine.

Sentenced to county jail were:

Roy Lowe, 20, of Lawrenceville, 11 1/2 to 23 months in county jail with credit for time served, $200 fine and 39 months probation for two counts of criminal trespassing. Lowe was also sentenced to 15 months probation and $100 fine for theft. Additionally, he was sentenced to three years of intermediate punishment, 90 days in county jail with community service and work release and probation for fleeing arrest.

Timothy R. Alexander, 57, of Wellsboro, 90 days county jail for public drunkenness.

Sarah A. Simonds, 28, of Wellsboro, six months county jail with work release and community service, probation, $200 fine and $75 restitution for possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.

Sentenced to Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition were:

Todd Bowen, 26, of Westfield, six months probation for tresspassing.

Paul M. Hazelton, 27, of Rew, 12 months probation for carrying a firearm without a license.

Cory S. Burrows, 23, of Nelson, 12 months probation for endangering children.

Joshua Granger, 26, of Abbeville, nine months probation and 30 days suspended license for DUI.

Marcus A. Herghelegiu, 33, of Mansfield, 12 months probation and $200 fine for possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.

William L. Watkins Sr., 60, of Mansfield, nine months probation and 30 days suspended license for DUI.

Daniel J. Lapointe, 35, of Tioga, nine months probation and 30 days suspended license for DUI.

Raymond C. Litterio, 58, of Elkland, 12 months probation and 60 days suspended license for DUI.

Steven D. Button Jr., 29, of Campbell, N.Y., 12 months probation and 60 days suspended license for DUI.

Richard E. Stahle Jr., 23, of Troy, 12 months probation and $100 fine for disorderly conduct.

Edward C. Painter III, 34, of Wellsboro, 18 months probation, 18 months prohibited from owning an animal, psychological evaluation and 500 hours community service for cruelty to animals
