HUNTERSVILLE — A smoky electrical fire inside a two-story farmhouse at 508 Upper Rynearson Road late Monday night left one man temporarily homeless, according to Picture Rocks Fire Chief Al Little.

No one was injured in the fire that broke out about 11:10 p.m. and only took volunteer firefighters about 15 minutes to “isolate” the problem and get the situation under control, he said.

“The electrical box in the basement overheated and melted,” he added.

While there was very little fire damage itself, “it could get very expensive” if the entire home has to be re-wired, Little said.

Assisting Picture Rocks were firefighters from Hughesville, Pennsdale, and Montoursville.

The solo occupant is staying with family until power to the property can be restored, Little said.
