Harley Fry II has formally announced his candidacy for the position of Muncy Creek Township Supervisor.
“With a focus on fiscal responsibility and community-driven policies, Fry is committed to steering Muncy Creek Township towards a sustainable and prosperous future,” a news release announcing his candidacy said. “Fry, who has been instrumental in various community roles over the years, brings a wealth of experience to his candidacy, including six years on the Township Planning Commission where he served a term as Chairman. He is a third-generation farmer in Muncy Creek Twp. and looks to his sons to continue that tradition into the future.”
Fry is active with two local 4H clubs and Lycoming County Fair Livestock Committee and has coached soccer for AYSO. Fry was a founding administrator for the Facebook group Muncy Creek Message Board which was established in April of 2021 to get important information out to the community when the board of supervisors at that time had failed to do so.
He has years of experience working with a local contractor hired by the township to assist with road paving projects and has been an active community participant in Township Board of Supervisors and Auditors meetings through the years and is actively involved with meetings of the Muncy School District School Board, the news release said. Fry has also been employed by Crestwood Kitchens, Muncy, for over 35 years.
According to the news release, as supervisor, Harley Fry II plans to:
• Foster transparency and accountability in township governance.
• Promote community engagement in decision making processes.
• Encourage sustainable development that aligns with the character and values of the township.
• And continuing his years of giving back to the community where he was raised, has raised his two boys, is a taxpaying landowner, and calls home.
