U.S. Rep. Dan Meuser, R-Dallas, recently commented on the Trump Administration and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services awarding $193 million to Pennsylvania from the Rural Health Transformation Fund.
Meuser, a news release noted, strongly advocated for and voted in favor of the Working Families Tax Cut package which created this fund that will transform healthcare across rural Pennsylvania.
“Pennsylvania will be receiving $193 million this year through the Rural Transformation Fund, an investment that will expand access to care and strengthen workforce training across the Commonwealth,” said Meuser, according to the news release. “My Republican colleagues and I supported the creation of this fund to confront the growing healthcare challenges facing rural communities across the United States. It’s unfortunate that every single Democrat in Congress, including every Democrat from Pennsylvania, voted against creating this fund. In recent years, rural Pennsylvanians have experienced a steady decline in access to essential healthcare services, and this funding is a critical step toward reversing that trend.”
Congress created the $50 billion Rural Health Transformation Fund through the Working Families Tax Cut, according to the news release.
“This funding, which represents the largest direct federal investment in rural healthcare in American history, will be distributed over the next five years to help states improve healthcare access and outcomes in rural communities,” the news release said.
