Williamsport City Council voted to again table a resolution authorizing bids for the solicitation of the sale of City Hall.
The narrow 4-3 vote Thursday night came with a discussion that led to the majority wanting to revisit this at the next meeting.
Those voting against tabling the resolution were Council President Eric Beiter, Councilman Jon Mackey and the resolution presenter, Councilman Jonah Milliken.
The city spends a stated $50,000 a year to heat and maintain the historic structure that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and built in the 1890s.
The building at 245 W. Fourth St. sustained water damage in July 2021 leading to the city Bureau of Codes issuing a condemnation after mold formed from dampness and humidity.
Mayor Derek Slaughter ordered the workers out and into safe offices and the building remained closed.
A pipe that year in mid-December burst and sprayed water on several floors.
The original police department continued to be used by city police to store records.
The vote to table the resolution is a developing story.
