Suspect caught, charged with injuring baby

Prison Bars

LEWISBURG – A 32-year-old man accused of causing traumatic injuries to an infant in April of 2022 is jailed after months of avoiding authorities, according to PennLive.com.

Owen Wesley Moore was arrested Thursday in Lycoming County on a charge of possession with intent to deliver drugs and jailed in lieu of $50,000 bail. He appeared before a judge in Union County Monday, where he is awaiting trial on charges of aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

Moore, whose bail had been revoked in January, was sentenced by Judge Lori R. Hackenberg to 15 days for contempt of court.

Moore is accused of shaking his girlfriend’s infant at their home in the Allenwood area.

According to PennLive, Moore told the child’s mother he called 911 after her daughter had choked on formula and wasn’t breathing.

The infant was transported to Geisinger Medical Center near Danville and placed on life support in critical condition. Geisinger’s staff determined she had suffered traumatic brain and physical injuries and estimated she had been without oxygen for 15 to 20 minutes, PennLive said.

The infant girl survived.

Starting at $2.99/week.
