Last winter, Williamsport’s Clover Lindsay reached the District 2-4 Class AAA diving championships and, while she didn’t walk away with a top-3 podium finish or reach states, she saw success.
That year-long work she put in resulted with a seventh-place finish at districts with as core of 332.15.
Now, the junior is building off that success this year.
On Saturday, Lindsay competed in a tri-meet with Holy Redeemer and DuBois and came away with a victory. Lindsay scored 154.65 points to win, edging out teammate Allie Eberhart (135.60) and Holy Redeemer’s Addie Brill (121.15).
Clover routinely put up solid scores throughout Saturday’s home meet.

Her best performance of the afternoon came when she scored all 6s when attempting a reverse dive, one somersault, tuck position on her fourth attempt. She scored 5 1/2, 5 1/2, 6 on her third dive with a forward dive, one-and-a-half somersault, tight position dive.
Lindsay was the only diver on Saturday to score at least a four on all six dive attempts. The junior scored a 4 1/2, 4, 6 on her first dive (inward dive, tight position) and then a 4, 5, 4 1/2 on her second attempt which was an inward dive, one somersault, tuck position.
She closed out Saturday’s tri-meet by scoring a 5, 4 1/2, 5 on a backward dive, one somersault, straight position and her sixth attempt saw her record three fours with a back dive, one somersault, one-and-a-half twist.
While Lindsay won, Eberhart showcased her talent as well. Eberhart is just a freshman and is already emerging as a good diver.
Eberhart had a strong attempt on her first dive when she scored 6 1/2, 5, 5 on an inward dive, tight position attempt. She then scored a 4, 3, 4 1/2 on an inward dive, one somersault, tuck position attempt and scored 5 1/2, 4 1/2 and 5 on her third dive which was a forward dive, straight position attempt.

Eberhart closed out Saturday’s competition strong as well. On her final three dives, she scored at least a four on each one.
She scored 4, 4, 4 1/2 on the fourth dive of a forward, one-and-a-half somersault, tight position and had three 5s on her fifth attempt which featured a back dive, one somersault, straight position. Her final attempt was a back dive, one somersault, one twist, free position which saw the judges give her scores of 4 1/2, 4, 4 1/2.
Both Lindsay and Eberhart opened the year strong in their diving attempts, and Williamsport fans can expect both Millionaires to only get better as the season progresses.
