Cogan Station man faces terroristic threat charges
A Cogan Station man has been charged with making terroristic threats after he threatened to kill two juveniles, Lycoming Regional police allege in an affidavit.
Called to a home in the 3700 block of Lycoming Creek Road by two juveniles on Dec. 9, police discovered Kevin Brent Shuman and another man in a physical altercation, with Shuman pinned to the ground.
The alleged victim stated that when he arrived at the residence, Shuman, 56, of 3630 Pine St., Cogan Station, “fell out of the residence and struck him in the face multiple times,” an affidavit said.
His face bloodied and reddened, the alleged victim told police that as he arrived at the residence, he was on the phone with one of the juveniles and heard Shuman threaten to kill him if he didn’t give him a lighter.
After hearing a commotion in his mother’s bedroom, one of the juveniles went in to check on her and found her lying on the floor, crying, at which point he called the adult alleged victim, he told police.
Shuman then allegedly threatened to kill the youth and his brother if he wasn’t given a lighter, court documents said.
Angry over the fact that he was worried about his mother, Shuman allegedly struck the juvenile in the throat before attacking the adult alleged victim, the boy said, according to an affidavit.
The second juvenile in the home corroborated his brother’s account, and police observed redness in the area of his throat, authorities said.
Shuman was arraigned on charges of making terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment by District Judge William Solomon.
