Price of gas

Representative Meuser/Senator McCormick: Yesterday I filled up my gas tank. I purchased 16 gallons at $4.39 a gallon for a total of just over $70. The Trump Administration and some Congressional Republicans like to put the blame on the Biden Administration for this increase. The fact is the average price of gas during the Biden Administration was $3.45 so $4.39 represents a 27% increase. I am encouraged by all the “No Data Centers” yard signs in my neighborhood. I fully support those citizens and believe we do need Data Centers. Who wants the data centers? It is the Government and that government is the largest landowner in America. Why not use land the government now owns? I oppose taking lovely farmland for large data centers when the government has many closed military bases, bombing ranges and grasslands in the American west that could easily accommodate several or a dozen Data Centers. It’s been over six months now, but I can’t stop thinking about those 130 little girls, ages 6 to 12, who were killed the first day of Trumps war, blown to pieces by a Tomahawk missile paid for by you and I. According to economists, the war with Iran has cost almost 100 billion dollars so far in direct costs, and the indirect costs to all of us of almost another 100 billion dollars, in the form of inflation and higher fuel costs.
