Prison inmate faces new charge
Jihad M. Sullivan, 19, with no known permanent address and currently serving a state prison sentence, was arraigned Thursday morning before Frey on a misdemeanor charge of persons not to possess a firearm stemming from an incident at the Timberland Apartments at 750 West Edwin St. a year ago, according to an affidavit filed by city police.
Upon searching an apartment at the complex on June 4, officers “located two loaded firearms which were under a pile of belongings,” police said. “The firearms were swabbed for DNA, and the results showed that Sullivan’s DNA was on both firearms,” court records stated. Sullivan remains jailed in lieu of an additional $25,000 bail ordered by the judge.
